Itinerary

On Saturday afternoon, June 1st, we're heading north to Yea to visit our friends the Nutters.  We're planning to stay two nights or so then go south east all the way to Orbost in one day, which is a whole day's driving.... perhaps we'll break it into two days, perhaps not... will see what happens and how Nahlia takes the drive.  It would be nice to stay in Orbost for a few nights, have a little 'holiday' and enjoy the region.  From Orbost it's only 3.5 hours north to Quaama NSW 2550 where we'll be WWOOFing for perhaps two months.  Beyond that we have no plans, just ideas.

Farewell

It was so lovely to have our closest friends here on Sunday to say 'Farewell.'  It was a sad occasion, but still a great opportunity for fun with bubbles!  We will miss all our Melbourne friends dearly.

10 days to go!

Our days are now extremely full!  Autumn leaves; freezing cold mornings; sitting by the fire; taking care of our daughter and each other; washing nappies; sorting through our belongings; packing boxes; making green tomato chutney; registering the caravan, cleaning it and doing small repairs; saying goodbye to friends; communicating with our WWOOF host, the next cottage tenants, and everyone else; keeping the floor clean; chopping wood; green smoothies every morning; and breathing the fresh autumn air.... are just a few things that keep us busy these days!

Nahlia loves to open and close the caravan door, as well as stepping up into it and then down and out again.

The flowers Nahlia gave me for Mother's Day...

It doesn't look like anything's been done in this room, but there is a stack of packed boxes in the corner!  We are so eager to get everything packed and ready for shipping to Germany that we can get a little tense and sometimes with each other too.  We hope to finish packing boxes today!

Nahlia loves to walk around and assumes that I am her 'walker'.  She will go all the way up to the main house and inside to visit Mrs Jaffe, all the while holding my hands.

We now have our first WWOOF placement!  It's an organic/biodynamic fruit farm with free range chooks who live among the fruit trees, in Quaama, New South Wales.  We aim to arrive there at the end of the first week of June.

Our official date of departure from the cottage in Lilydale is Friday, 31st of May.  That's about ten days from now and there is still so much that we need to get done in that time!

All systems go!

Emptying the contents of our stationery cupboard/desk so we can sell it....

At our garage sale - we held it at a friend's place last weekend.  This was after the early morning rush!  We got rid of about half of our excess 'stuff' and made some good money, which we are very happy about.

Nahlia loves to walk around holding our fingers!  It's her favourite thing now, but it means that she will be walking soon!  She is chewing on a rubber band in this picture!

Ulf is doing some repairs to the caravan to get it ready for 'inspection' so we can register it for the road.  Here he is taking the springs off.  It turned out that we don't need to replace them, so they went straight back on again!  We will register it this week - yipee!

That's a little snapshot of how we are spending our time right now!  Life is very full and busy with lots of preparations underway and still there is much to be done before we can leave....!
