Summer time

We're loving our sunflowers at the moment.... except they all face away from the backyard, as they look towards the sun...!  Here's Ulf hanging about, with his nose in a good book.

I had a lovely time at my birthday tea party, thanks to all the girls who helped celebrate with me!

Ulf painting the baby's room.... He did a fantastic job of it, so I'll post a photo when it's all setup and ready for bub! :-)

Chilli sauce for Ulf in the making...   I've been enjoying making many yummy things from the produce that summer brings.

Ulf took this lovely 'soft focus' pic of me with the sunflowers along the back fence.... showing how big I'm getting!

Ulf loves bbq-ing the German way - with coals!  I love it too - it gives it a lovely bbq flavour to the food - no excessive oil.... but we have found that different types of wood give different flavours to our food too!

Only five weeks until my due date....  and last week we started Birth Education Classes at the hospital.  Midwife appointments are becoming more frequent, and next week we'll be packing our bags for hospital in readiness....babies are unpredictable, they say!  I'm feeling a lot more confident about giving birth since attending the education classes.... before it was a big 'unknown' lying ahead of me, but now I actually want to do this - it's a challenge that I'm looking forward to now!  We're still working on getting the baby's room ready - I'm currently re-covering a comfy rocking chair!  It feels like things are speeding up at the moment, but I realise that in the last weeks things can feel really slow..... so I've left a few unfinished craft projects to the side to occupy my time in those long last weeks!
