Up, up and away!

On Tuesday, 2nd June 2009, we finally took our hot air balloon ride! We had been trying to go for almost a year - the dates we picked never agreed with the weather until now!


It was a really nice experience - to float along in the breeze and see things from a different perspective.


We went with two other couples, so we were 7 people in all including the pilot.

Although we were passengers, we also had crew duties and were involved in the setting up and packing up of the balloon - not what we expected, but it was still good.

We took off at a vineyard and landed in a cow paddock!

Afterwards we enjoyed a champagne breaksfast at Chateau Yering, which was scrumptious! Unfortunately for us we had to share our breakfast experience with the other passengers from our flight. It wasn't that bad, but it would have been nice to have some time to ourselves in that nice place.

Back on the home front, we have been busy organising the little bits and pieces for our trip to Germany. Ulf now has his visa stamped in his passport and we're working out what to do with our little red car before we go. We still need to find a housesitter, organise someone to take us to the airport and pick us up again when we get back, and, of course, sell our six little rabbit babies! By the end of June they will be six weeks old and ready to leave their mother. So it's all happening here at the Jetters!

We can't wait to see our German family and friends again! Yipee!

We're going to Germany!

Yesterday we bought our tickets for flights to Germany!

On 1st July we will leave Melbourne for Amsterdam, via Kuala Lumper and on 29th August we will return the same way. Praise the Lord for making it possible for us to visit our German family and friends! He is so good to us!

On the home front, our rabbit had babies again yesterday. One died at birth, but six remain and are healthy! This time Lily made a nest with much more hay and much more fur to cover them and keep them warm. She is doing well.

The autumn leaves give a splash of colour to our back yard and I can't help feeling excited about the 'coming snow of winter'... except there is no snow in Melbourne winters, only in southern German ones... and we will not see winter this year in Melbourne, due to our trip to Germany (our 'other home'). There we will enjoy two months of summer!

Emma has joined a weekly craft group, which her friend Sherry attends, and is really enjoying doing crafty things with others who are just as enthusiastic as she!

Ulf is enjoying his job at the school - 3 hours of exercise each day! ;-) In the first week he was a bit sore, but now he enjoys his daily workout cleaning at school.

Please pray for us as we prepare for our trip to Germany. There are a few things that we need to do before we go, and we are looking forward to see how our time in Germany unfolds, according to His plan.
