A Cairns Escape

Ahhhh.... what a beautiful six days we just had at Treetops Lodge in Cairns!  We thoroughly enjoyed our little holiday and were able to fully relax...!
Nahlia enjoying teasing the goldfish in the pond.

 Eating in the tree-tops literally!

An Ulf creation:  Pineapple Kombucha Smoothie... delicious!

 Palm Cove Beach

Having a go on her bike at the beach.

Nahlia swimming by herself, with only the aid of a pool noodle!  She learnt this skill in less than 6 days - amazing!

A Kombucha Bar at Rusty's Markets.... yummy and great for us!

 Rusty's Markets

Enjoying the swing... she asks us to sing the theme song to the Heidi cartoon everytime she's on it!

Dragonfruit - the fruit of a cactus.

 Stony Creek...
... a pristine freshwater creek in the middle of the rainforest...
... which we enjoyed in the rain...
... after some bush-bashing to get there... :)

Dadda and Nahlia share some mango... awwww....!

It was lovely to forget about everything and just be together.

Summer holiday

Sand, sun, water and tiny waves... that's what we enjoyed for the last four days in Rosebud.  I had been looking forward to this little holiday for a very long time and I thoroughly enjoyed it!  It was so nice to switch off to all my usual daily tasks and projects!  It was a relaxing and refreshing time....

We were privileged to be invited by our friends the Schneiders, to stay at their beach house with them.  That was a blessing.  We were able to go out for dinner without Nahlia, to enjoy their company, share meals and the usual household clean-up, and Nahlia enjoyed playing with their children too.... or should I say having them play with her....? :)

Nahlia liked exploring the sand, and the water.... but she was so unafraid of the water that we had to keep close and watch her movements.  She liked charging through the water, splashing it everywhere and crawling out into the ocean!  That was fine the first time as the tide was out and the depth was shallow a long way out, but the second day it was high tide and the water became too deep very quickly.

"I love the beach!" says Nahlia as she munches on a shell while her Daddy tickles her....
